City of Caldwell Update on Power Outage

At 3:20 pm, today Entergy released a statement regarding the outage via their Facebook Page “Entergy Texas“:

Crews have completed ground and air patrols of a transmission line serving the Somerville and Caldwell areas. We’ve identified and isolated the damage and are in the process of re-energizing the line. For customers experiencing storm-related outages from today’s severe storms, please visit our view outage map for the latest information, http://enter.gy/6186GEyN4.

Power will hopefully be restored soon. Thank you for your patience, and cooperation during this outage.

City of Caldwell Update on Power Outage

At noon today Entergy released a statement regarding the outage via their Facebook Page “Entergy Texas“: 

Crews continue to work to assess damage and restore power following last night’s severe weather. As of 10:30 a.m., around 2,700 customers remain without power across Southeast Texas, down from nearly 13,700 at the height of the storm. Some areas saw up to 60 mph winds, which caused significant damage to our infrastructure. The hardest-hit areas were Caldwell, Somerville and Navasota. We’ve brought in additional crews and are patrolling for damage by air. Once a full assessment is made, we’ll update our outage map with estimated restoration times, http://enter.gy/6187GEE3v

The City of Caldwell is waiting for more information from Entergy as to when power will be restored to customers. Check the City of Caldwell’s website and social media for additional updates regarding the situation.

City of Caldwell Update on Power Outage

As of this morning the Entergy power outage is still affecting around 7000 customers.

On Wednesday, May 27, 2020 around 2:40 pm a strong line of storms rolled through the area producing sever weather. During the duration of the storms an Entergy Transmission Line caused a power outage that has affected the majority of customers in the City of Caldwell, parts of Somerville, parts of Navasota, and surrounding area. Once the severe weather cleared the area Wednesday night hours, Entergy crews were deployed to investigate the source of the outage. The lightning and lack of visibility caused a delay in the restoration of power to customers overnightAn official estimated restoration time from Entergy has not been released at this time. The City is waiting for more information from Entergy as to when power will be restored to customers. Check the City of Caldwell website and social media for additional updates regarding the situation.
