Meet the City Administrator

Charles West, ICMA-CM

Charles West has been selected to serve as the new City Administrator for the City of Caldwell, bringing more than 25 years of municipal government experience, including 14 years in city management. He previously served as City Manager for the City of Lago Vista and has held public service and leadership positions as a firefighter-paramedic, police officer, and director of community development.

West grew up in Tyler, Texas, and is a graduate of LeTourneau University. He holds professional licenses as a Texas peace officer, code enforcement officer, and plumbing inspector. His diverse background in public safety, community development, and municipal administration has shaped his practical, service-oriented approach to local government.

West believes effective city government is built on transparency, accessibility, accountability, and strong relationships. He is committed to maintaining an open-door policy and working collaboratively with residents, businesses, city employees, and elected officials.

Charles and his wife, Joann, have been married for 34 years and have three children: daughters Casey and Charlee and son Cody. The West family is excited to make Caldwell their home, become involved in the community, and join the Caldwell family.
